All baked goods, including many loaves of bread each day, were produced here. The cupola atop the building and ample screen windows created a design to enhance the flow of air through what had to have been a very warm enclosure. Hinged openings at ground level allowed kindling and firewood to be passed into the bakery to fuel the oven.
