In-Camp Program
From the moment that campers arrive on the
island, they realize they are in for a host of new
experiences and adventures under the watchful eye
of our expert staff. At Camp Temagami, the daytime is filled with fantastic
activities. Campers can enjoy a morning getting creative in arts and crafts, on
a sing-song with one of our camp guitars, sail with their cabin mates, cool off with
a swim; or take a short paddle around our secluded bay.
Additionally, campers spend time in camp with each other learning about all
aspects of wilderness camping and canoe tripping including map reading, paddling
strokes, canoe safety, food preparation and meal planning. Free time is spent with
friends and staff, or simply used for reflection.
Mealtimes also offer an opportunity to enjoy the company of fellow campers and
staff. The energy level in our dining hall is electric, and entertainment comes in
the form of singsongs, hilarious skits put on by our guides, storytelling, and theme
meals. This is the spirit that makes the Camp Temagami experience unique and
memorable. The energy and excitement continues in the evenings. Campers can
participate in a camp-wide game, a campfire, or an activity designed specifically
for their cabin group. The evening often ends with a dip in the lake before the
campers return to their cabin for stories, laughter and some well-earned rest.
