Knowledge and Guidance
Camp Temagami's staff has a wealth of experience and certified qualifications both working with and caring for children and canoeing Canada's outdoors. Traditionally known as Guides, the majority of our staff is comprised of experienced educators –people who have the maturity, know-how, and teaching skills to ensure that every camper has an enjoyable and fulfilling experience without compromising safety. The average age of our guides last year was just over 24 years old.
As a matter of course, all trips have certified water safety and wilderness first-aid trained staff. Somewhat uniquely, all our remote trips take satellite phones as a precaution against the unlikely event of a major emergency. There is nothing we take more seriously than the safety of our campers.
