Testimonials
Here is what some of our campers and their parents (and grandparents) have said about Camp Temagami:
"As I reflect on the five years I have spent at Camp Temagami I remember all of the trips I have done there. I think of all the wonderful staff that have tripped with me at camp, all of the places I have been with them; trips in and out of the Temagami area. I remember the five-day trip, my first, and I remember the twenty-three day trip, last year's.
"I look forward to the four weeks in the bush this year, hopefully in Labrador. I know the feeling of toughness and strength, after completing the first portage and the hundredth one. I know the feeling of sliding easily down the first set of rapids and the fiftieth one. I experience the feeling of longing to get back on the water and trail almost every day.
"I then can understand what a large part Camp plays in my life. I have made many friends at camp and have seen many parts of the world that I feel privileged to have seen and without camp, probably never would have seen. I have done amazing feats, with fifty pounds of gear on my back, and have tested my body to its limit, day after day. All of this is worth it because sitting on a camp site at nine o'clock watching the sun set with loon song in the air is so moving that I would do it every day if I could. Working against the current for days and weeks at a time is all worth it for the week or less spent flying down the other side of the watershed. That is why you can count on seeing me at Camp Temagami this summer."

"The one thing that we both noted when Eli came home from Camp Temagami was a positive change in his demeanour. He was more helpful and engaging. We could tell by his attitude that he had been challenged and felt a real sense of accomplishment. We are sure this will be his camp for years to come."
- Parents of 9 year-old Eli
"I would like to inform you of the marvellous time Matthew had at camp. As a parent, I was not even sure he was oing to be able to handle it or even enjoy it. I was very wrong. My husband and I both noticed he has become more mature, more confident, more assured and more focussed in the manner he carries himself and the way he expresses himself. I know it is impossible to believe that all of this happened in the course of 2 weeks...Please thank all your staff on my behalf for giving him, in addition to lifelong memories and new skills, something that was not offered in your brochure: maturity and independence. The staff is not only dedicated and experienced with canoeing and camping, but they are also superb in dealing with kids."
